In my opinion,“May I have your name?” is better than “What's your name?” What do you think about it y'all? Btw I'm fully Japanese and I'm still studying English and other languages as well
"May I have your name?" is pretty formal and most English speakers today wouldn't use it unless they were working in customer service. "What's your name?" is fine for casual conversation, but the way Junna used it was a little awkward. In this case, she might have said "tell me your name and where you're from" (or, because she's doing a podcast and she has an audience, "tell us your name" or "tell everyone your name"). Your English is better than my Japanese! 日本語を勉強した。でも忘れちゃった。
